The Last Day of Class :(

Well - this is it! We just have a few things left to do. I've truly enjoyed getting to know each of you and look forward to hearing from you as you continue here at UGA.

1. We need to complete the end-of-course evaluations- please take these seriously - (as I -- and my department head -- certainly do).

2. We need to take a class picture.

3. We need to present our portfolios! Make sure to share your favorite project.

4. You have two opportunities to earn an additional 5 points on your portfolio:
Opportunity #1: Attend the EDIT Studio Showcase tonight at 5:15 pm in rm 616 and send me an email telling me about 3 of the projects you viewed (in detail!). The email is due Friday by noon.
Opportunity #2: One of your classmates and I have been talking about how nice it would be to have a cookbook with ideas for cooking in a dorm or apartment for one or two people. We figured between all of my four classes we could get enough recipes to make a cookbook. I meant to do this earlier in the semester but haven't gotten around to it. If you'd like to contribute your favorite recipe - please send it in an email to me by noon Friday. I'll send an electronic copy of the finished recipe to you before Christmas.

5. Please make sure you fill in the sign-in sheet before you leave - with your portfolio address and your contact information in case I am unable to access your work.

6. I will finish grading by next Thursday - your grade will be available in OASIS immediately after I post them. Please let me know if you have questions about your final grade.

Have an absolutely wonderful holiday - and please stop by and visit next semester!

Final Reflection Update

The following was emailed to all EDIT 2000 students on Tuesday, December 6:

I've had several questions from EDIT 2000 students about the 1st question on the final reflection assignment. This was something we discussed during class at the very beginning of the semester. I normally provide a reading for this but for whatever reason, I did not this semester. I have copies of the reading in a green bucket outside of my office. The outside doors to my office are open until 5:00 each day. I'm not running a full class set -- so if the bucket is empty when you stop by - send me an email and I'll get another copy to you.

You can also look online for background information on different types of learning theories and teaching strategies (this is from your EPSY class if you've taken it yet):

Funderstanding:
You'll find links to descriptions of several different learning theories

Teaching and Learning Strategies:

You'll find descriptions of various teaching and learning strategies -- many of which we have discussed in class

Please let me know if you have any additional questions about your reflections paper.

I have some appointment times that have opened up on Wednesday should you find that you need help with your portfolio. Please make sure it is completed before you arrive for class - I will not be available before class on Thursday.
